A movement, martial arts and yoga practitioner for over 25 years, Todd works as a Yoga Therapist with private clients in their homes and as an Experiential Therapist with behavioral health patients in a clinical setting. He incorporates yoga, tai chi, meditation, mindfulness, progressive muscle relaxation, respiratory control and guided imagery as therapeutic healing modalities to reduce suffering and raise people to their highest potential. Whether it is managing anxiety-related symptoms, stabilizing emotional challenges or improving physicality; it’s about increasing the quality of life---however his clients or patients choose to define that. He has personally experienced the healing powers of these techniques during his profound recovery from two major back surgeries. The first of which led him to share the benefits of practice through teaching beginning in 2006. Todd is known for his unique ability to catalyze transformation in clients of all abilities and has helped to empower people facing conditions including: multiple sclerosis, autism, dysautonomia, pelvic inflammatory disorder, perimenopause, breast cancer, shoulder surgery, migraine headache, and hip or knee replacement.
Accept, Reject, Adapt
Identifying the range of boundaries (obstacles)
I help my clients identify the range of their physical, mental and emotional
boundaries. We then explore the possibility of accepting fixed boundaries,
playing the edge of flexible boundaries and learning to release illusory
boundaries.
Riding with rather than rejecting obstacles
Practicing the art of freedom from obstacles involves using rather
than rejecting the boundaries and then “riding” with its universal flow of energy.
Boundary exploration and management is made possible by focusing the mind,
uniting the breath and directing the physical and energetic intent of mindful
movements.
Reducing fluctuations of the mind = life enhancement
Building inner strength begins by developing humility and a
compassionate attitude towards oneself, all living beings and the world at-large. Yoga and mind-body arts are a path/philosophy/science of practicing how to reduce the fluctuations of the mind including: physical poses (asana), meditation, breath control (pranayama), hand gestures (mudra), chant (mantra) or a combination of these techniques---simply put, we incorporate the mind-body tools of choice into daily life to enhance our lives regardless of real or perceived limitations.

May all beings everywhere plagued
with sufferings of body and mind quickly be freed from their illnesses. May those frightened cease to be afraid, and may those bound be free. May the powerless find power, and may people think of befriending each other. May those who find themselves in trackless, fearful wilderness-- the children, the aged, the unprotected-- be guarded by beneficent celestials, and may they swiftly attain Buddhahood. The Buddha |
